The world's largest single market
 
Once again the United States was the largest market in 2008 with 10,386 MW of installed capacity. Texas (where Horse Hollow is situated) and Iowa contributed with almost 50 percent of the capacity. A total of 27 states contributed to the 2008 total.
 
The cumulative capacity installed by the end of 2008 was 25,237 MW - this number is estimated to rise to 77,237 by the end of 2013.
